A fresh start.
I’m a recent newlywed living in a new city. So far it’s been a thrilling experience … exploring new places, meeting new people, and housewifing it while looking for that new job while starting a new job while working an awesome job full time.
As a former collegiate athlete, I’m interested in nutrition and healthy eating. But I also have a serious sweet tooth. I love eating dessert first and definitely indulge in my fair share of not-so-good-for-you foods. Everything in moderation, right?
You’ve probably guessed by now that I’m not a professional chef or baker. Never took a cooking or baking class, unless you count the lessons learned from my mother and grandmothers. I just truly enjoy making delicious food for others.
Why Lofty Bites?
1) My husband and I live in a loft apartment. 2) I have some lofty personal goals in the kitchen… I aspire to cook at least one tantalizing meal and bake one delectable treat every week that are blog-worthy. And I want to tackle those items listed on my “Lofty Goals” page. I promise to detail all the successes (and mishaps!) of my culinary adventures with you.
I’ve always wanted to start a food blog because of my pure love of all things food-related. I’m sure many of you reading this are like me: When your treasured food magazines arrive, do you earmark and highlight every recipe you want to try? Do you dash to your computer to save every recipe that airs on your favorite cooking shows? Dare I mention pinning countless recipes from your beloved food blogs.
Unfortunately most of these recipes never make it to our dinner table. This blog is my turning point. No more stalling. Hopefully I can inspire you to stop saving recipes and start making them with me.
Here’s to attempting feats in the kitchen together!

Hi Leah – I’m Andrea’s sister-in-law. She mentioned your blog to me this weekend, so I popped over this morning to check it out and…I love it! Very nicely done :). Looking forward to more yummy recipes!
Thanks Amy! I’m glad you like it and hope you keep reading 🙂

Loved the Mango Salsa, great compliment to my skirt steak tacos for my son’s bday!
