Lofty Goals

Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all. ~Harriet Van Horne

My lofty aspirations in the kitchen may not seem “lofty” to a master chef or even many home chefs, but here’s the list of homemade items I’d like to tackle in the kitchen (in no particular order):

  1. Bread
  2. Biscuits
  3. Pizza dough
  4. Pasta
  5. Paella
  6. Roast chicken with all the fixings
  7. Savory Soufflé
  8. Sweet Soufflé
  9. Whipped Cream (that isn’t liquid or turned into butter)
  10. Donuts
  11. French Macarons
  12. Filled Cupcakes Best Birthday Cupcakes with Fudge Filling (Oct. 2011)
  13. Perfect Pie Crust
  14. Banana Cream Pie
  15. Pâte à Choux (a.k.a. cream puffs)
  16. A cake that looks like food (e.g. cheeseburger, sushi)
  17. Cake pops
  18. Tarte Tatin
  19. Crème Brûlée
What feats do you aspire to tackle your kitchen?

    Leah,

Your brownies look delicious! They’re definitely on my list of new recipes to try. I love your lofty goals. I’m a huge fan of making my own bread and I think you will be too. Pizza dough is pretty easy, so easy in fact that we have a homemade pizza almost every Friday to celebrate the weekend. I too would love to try and make my own donuts (and bagels). We’ll have to trade recipes!

Thank you Brittany! We definitely need to swap recipes, and I’m sure I’ll be asking you some tips on the homemade bread and dough making!
